We are honored to present:
Queen Sheba
performing at 10PM
Queen Sheba expresses her ideas, her emotions and her life through writing.
Her
feelings, her thoughts and expressions, her journey
through pain, and healing, her very essence has been expressed and chronicled with pen and paper, and shared through Spoken Word Poetry.
Recently, Queen Sheba took the major step of allowing these chronicles to be heard in the hopes of reaching out and touching lives.
As her innermost being, her beliefs and her strong sense of culture all come together in the form of poetry.
The response has been overwhelming!.

In a very short time the Queen has thrilled audiences in New York, Atlanta, Miami,Madison,Detroit, New Orleans and the Bay Area in CA, while making her home stage in Houston, TX.
More recently Queen Sheba performed at a Susan Kormen Breast Cancer Awareness Forum, Baylor University’s School of
Medicine, and is a second year member of the Houston Slam Team. She has an original piece used as the anthem for the Anbessa Foundation; has placed in the top four poets in Houston’s “Last Poet Standing” Competition,
lead Mr. A’s Slam Team to victory, in Houston's "Battle of the Venues," and was the first placed finalist in the TSU Slam Off.
She has become a very popular and demanded feature in many of the venues around the area including EB5, Mr. A’s, G & Z’s, Shadow Bar,Java’s and Prairie View A&M.
In addition to her social issues, she has also opened the mysteries of Africa, and the Far East for all to hear. The Queen’s ability to share her rich, royal history, and her engaging regal style, takes us back to ancient Egypt and brings into the
modern world. She is a poet and a real person!
Her heartfelt words tell an emotional story that we can
all easily relate to.
By demand, her debut album, "Virgin" brings us into her many worlds and grabs our hearts and our attention!
Her insights and perspectives could only come from a queen’s royal throne!
She has sold over 1000 copies nationally, since the album release in June of 2008 and the album continues to gain momentum!
Don’t let her natural beauty overwhelm you—-let the beauty of the Queen’s words transform you in the magic of a true poet!

Thursday April 4, 8PM: Chiara String Quartet- Classical in a club
Presented by Da Camera Houston

“ Some artists just focus on the music they love and settle for earning points in heaven.
And the Chiara String Quartet will earn many with Leyendas:
An Andean Walkabout, by Peruvian American composer Gabriela Lena Frank (New Voice Singles).
What a piece! Incredibly vivid ethnic imagery is contained in six tight, short movements”
David Patrick Stearns INQUIRER MUSIC CRITIC
The Philadelphia Inquirer
Two Star Symphony at 10PM

“What makes Two Star Symphony interesting is its fearlessness, creativity, sense of humor, and, well, you can’t deny there is something sexy about girls playing stringed instruments in a bar.” -Sara Cress, Houston Chronicle
“Not only are they gifted composers and musicians, but the intensity behind their playing has such a palpable energy that I felt we were truly telling the same story through dance and music.” -Dominic Walsh of the The Dominic Walsh Dance Theater
